Leslie (Lee) Berkowitz graduated from Frankford Hospital School of
Nursing in 1985. She had
already received a bachelor of science in communication degree from Temple
University.
She went on to receive a bachelor of science in nursing
degree from
Pennsylvania
State
University
in 1989. She was inducted
into the Golden Key National Honor Society and was listed in Who’s
Who in Young American Professionals in 1989, 1992 and Who’s Who in
American nurses in 1995. She
worked at Albert Einstein
Medical
Center
for one year in medical-surgical nursing before she began her
mother/baby career at the Hospital of Philadelphia College of
Osteopathic Medicine. At its
closing in 1999 she worked at Mercy Suburban
Hospital in
Norristown
for 2 years and did mother/baby home care visits for Storkwatch and
Bayada nurses. She then
spent 3 years with the American Red Cross as a clinical specialist
in pheresis and stem cell collections.
She moved on to dialysis and was employed by DaVita
Healthcare for 4 years as both staff RN and action facility
administrator. She is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Nursing
Education fro Regis University
